A Cloud Server is, by far, a better option than a VPS (Virtual Private Server) type hosting. While both are virtual servers themselves, the main difference lies in the fact that a VPS is part of a single physical server and shares that single machine's resources with other VPS instances. This implies a latent risk in case of a problem with the physical server.
Our Cloud Servers, on the other hand, are virtual machines whose resources (CPU, RAM memory and storage) are distributed across multiple servers. In addition, information is replicated three times across different nodes, ensuring High Availability (HA) and the continuity of your application in case of an incident on one or more physical servers.
Another important advantage of Cloud Servers is greater flexibility and control when it comes to scaling resources. You can increase resources like CPU, RAM, disk space and transfer at any time and with a couple of clicks.
Finally, with our Cloud Servers you have the ability to choose multiple operating systems, applications and different configurations, allowing you to change all the server's software in a matter of minutes and from a simple, intuitive interface.
At Donweb.cloud, you have a wide variety of operating systems, panels, and technology stacks that you can install in minutes with our Click&Go.
Visit https://marketplace.donweb.com to explore all available options and their versions.
Each Cloud Server comes with an initial monthly transfer quota of 1 Terabyte. This amount is more than enough for most projects. Also, you can monitor and increase this quota in real time from your control panel if needed.
As for bandwidth, each Cloud Server offers 300 Mb/s dedicated and symmetric. It's important to consider that bandwidth restrictions could apply if you use your server for proxy or streaming services.
For latency and speed tests, you can ping or traceroute to: cloudmeter.donweb.com.
You can also download test files of 100 MB and 1 GB to evaluate performance.
(Keep in mind, when testing, that download speed can be affected by your Internet provider).
Transfer between Cloud Servers through the internal network is not taken into account for consumption calculation, so it will not be deducted from your quota.
Keep in mind that if you're going to use your Cloud Server as a proxy or for streaming services, we may apply bandwidth restrictions.
The storage specified in the configuration is fully available for your files, applications, sites, databases and emails.
The space needed for the operating system and control panel (or chosen technology stack) is provided as additional storage at no cost on your Cloud Servers. This extra space varies depending on the size of the operating system image. For example, if you contract 10 GB of storage and choose the CentOS image with the Ferozo panel, the total space allocated to your server will be approximately 16 GB, about 6 GB more than contracted.
At any time during your cloud server contract, you can increase or decrease resources quickly and simply:
This type of resource is prorated by day.
For example: if you contract a cloud server for 3 months (90 days) and on day 40 you want to increase resources, we will charge you the difference for the new resources for the remaining 50 days. Likewise, if you decrease resources we will credit your customer account with the difference in your favor for the remaining days. You can then use that credit to pay for renewals, new purchases or even future resource upgrades.
Upgrade: Once the difference is paid, you choose when to apply the resource change on the server because it requires a restart of about 3 to 5 minutes and you will surely want to apply it at a time that doesn't impact your sites' traffic.
Downgrade: The change will be applied immediately once you proceed and the server will restart for about 3 to 5 minutes.
ATTENTION: Storage resources can be increased but not decreased.
At Donweb Cloud you can purchase software licenses quickly and easily. These include:
Each license is assigned to a single Cloud Server, and you can add, remove, or modify a license at any time during your contract period.
Windows Server, SQL Server, and Windows Remote Desktop Services licenses are prorated monthly, which determines the billing (or refund) calculation when adding or removing the license.
On the other hand, Ferozo and cPanel licenses are prorated monthly when adding or removing them, and daily when modifying the number of hosting accounts for each license.
For example, if you purchase a cloud server for 3 months and, on day 3 of the second month, you decide to add a Ferozo or cPanel license, you will be charged the cost corresponding to the current month plus the remaining month. Likewise, if you remove a license you had from the beginning during the second month, you will be credited the equivalent value of one month of service.
Additionally, in the case of cPanel and Panel Ferozo, you can modify the license according to the number of hosting accounts you need. In this case, a daily proration will be used to calculate the proportional charge or refund.
If you already have your own licenses for these software, you can also use them on your Cloud Server. In that case, we will request some information to verify their validity.
Each Cloud Server includes two dedicated public IPs, one IPv4 and one IPv6.
Worldwide, IPv4 addresses have run out and there's a migration towards a global infrastructure with IPv6. In that sense, if you need more IPs you can contact us. We generally don't provide more than one IPv4, but for IPv6 we can assign you more upon request.
The IPs assigned to each Cloud Server can be geolocated in Argentina or the United States. This assignment is done automatically, and it's not possible to select a specific location on request.
At Donweb, we offer four complementary backup methods to maximize the security of your information:
Automatic Server Backup:
We perform weekly automatic backups of your cloud server as a disaster recovery measure. Optionally, you can contract daily backups with retention of the last 30 copies for an extra charge. For more details on these options, visit this link.
Real Time Replicas:
All of your Cloud Server's content, from the operating system to your sites' files and databases, is replicated in real time across three different storage servers. This ensures operational continuity even in case of hardware failure.
Backups of Sites, Emails and Databases:
From any of the panels we offer, you can configure automatic backups of hosting accounts, emails and databases. You have the option to save these backups locally or to external destinations such as FTP servers, Google Drive, another Cloud Server, etc. You can also generate manual backups when needed.
Snapshots (server images):
These are exact copies of your Cloud Server that you can create at any time, in real time, and with a single click. They work like an "instant photograph" of the server's complete state and are stored in a private external space, accessible only by you.
Snapshots are ideal when you're going to make critical changes or updates, allowing quick restoration in case of problems. However, they are automatically deleted after 28 days, so they are not recommended as a long-term backup solution.
For more information about snapshots, click this link.
Snapshots are exact copies of your Cloud Server that you can generate at any time. They act as "instant photographs" that capture all the information and configuration of the server at the moment they are created, allowing you to restore them when necessary.
Snapshots are managed from your Client Area, where you can also use them to create a new Cloud Server identical to the original.
It's important to remember that snapshots should be used in two main cases:
Keep in mind that snapshots are deleted after some time, generally 28 days from their creation, so they should not be considered a long-term backup method.
For each of your Cloud Servers, up to 2 snapshots are included free of charge.
You can find more information about snapshots at this link.
The time will depend on the image chosen for installation. Here are some reference times:
IMPORTANT: The Cloud Server is created within minutes, and will appear as active in the interface almost immediately. However, after this initial process, all software related to the technology stack you chose will be installed, as well as applying necessary updates. During this phase, although the Cloud Server appears as active, you might experience errors when trying to use the software of the selected image.
Yes, you can re-create your Cloud Server choosing the OS you want whenever you consider it necessary. Keep in mind that some OS, such as Windows, require a license to be created, as does opting for an OS with a hosting control panel, such as cPanel or Ferozo, pre-installed.
Yes, all our Cloud Servers come with a preconfigured firewall by default, which you can easily manage from your Client Area through an intuitive visual interface. In addition, you have the option to install an additional firewall inside your Cloud Server if you prefer.
Every time you create or reconfigure a Cloud Server, the firewall automatically adjusts to adapt to the selected image's software.
You can find more information about the Virtual Firewall for Cloud Servers at this link.
At DonWeb we have several layers of protection to mitigate denial-of-service attacks such as: SYN, ICMP and UDP flood, Ping of Death, Smurf, etc. Also those attacks that try to saturate our network's bandwidth.
In case of severe, large-scale attacks, the mitigation systems located upstream, at the level of our connectivity providers (carriers), will be activated. These are activated automatically and within the first 5 minutes of the attack starting.
If the attacks are smaller in scale and directed at specific servers, the mitigation systems within our datacenters will be activated. These filtering systems have rules that are updated periodically and work automatically.
Additionally, our staff assigned to the Network Operation Center monitor the networks 24x7x365 and will act promptly against any anomaly detected in traffic.
Also, beyond DDoS, there are many and very diverse types of computer attacks that can affect your sites. That's why we recommend:
Yes, all our Cloud Servers are managed. We continuously monitor the network and the status of all nodes to ensure optimal operation. In addition, if your server uses the Ferozo panel, we also take care of performing updates and applying security patches.
Our Cloud Servers nodes are located in Argentina, in one of our four datacenters, with IP located in Argentina or the USA.
For latency and speed tests, you can ping or traceroute to: cloudmeter.donweb.com.
You can also download test files of 100 MB and 1 GB to evaluate performance.
Don't worry! Here we offer some basic guidelines to help you decide the best starting point. Also, one of the great advantages of our Cloud Servers is that you can adjust resources at any time, and the process takes less than 5 minutes.
Here are some general recommendations:
Minimal Linux installation (without applications or hosting panels): You can start with 1 vCPU and 1 GB of RAM. This configuration is ideal for experimenting with basic Linux functionalities.
Linux with control panels or web applications (cPanel/Ferozo/Cyberpanel, Moodle, WordPress, Odoo, NodeJS, etc.): We recommend starting with at least 2 vCPU and 2 GB of RAM. As your site or web app goes into production and traffic increases, you may need to scale up resources.
Windows or Windows with Ferozo control panel: We suggest an initial configuration of 4 vCPU and 4 GB of RAM for optimal performance.
In all cases, you can monitor your Cloud Server's performance from the statistics screen and adjust resources as needed.
If you have a high-demand project, don't hesitate to contact us so our engineers can design a custom infrastructure for you.
If you need more than 480 GB of storage, we offer you the Cloud Volumes of up to 1 TB each.
These volumes work as network-accessible storage blocks, providing additional space for your data. Similar to an external hard drive, you can connect and disconnect them from your Cloud Servers as needed, in addition to formatting them and increasing their capacity at any time.
Each Cloud Server supports connecting up to 10 Cloud Volumes.
Yes, our servers include an SSL certificate.
Depending on the installed software, there are different alternatives to use a free Let's Encrypt SSL, or a commercial SSL certificate.
All Linux Cloud Servers include SSH access with "root" permissions, while servers with Windows installation have access through Remote Desktop with "admin" permissions. In both cases, you can connect using the public IP or a provided hostname.
Additionally, you have access through an application called VNC, which runs in your web browser and simulates a Linux console or a Windows Remote Desktop, as appropriate.
On the other hand, if you use hosting control panels such as cPanel or Ferozo, or install application images such as WordPress, Odoo, Moodle, etc., we will provide you with the necessary administrator-level access.
All access data will be available in your Client Area for you to check at any time.
Of course! We recommend using a control panel like Ferozo, cPanel or CloudPanel to facilitate and speed up the management of your server and hosting accounts. From your Cloud Server administration, you can purchase the necessary licenses and install the panels with a few clicks, leaving everything configured and ready for use.
The Ferozo Control Panel offers an Unlimited Accounts license, which allows you to manage as many websites as you need from the start. If you choose cPanel, you can select licenses for 5, 30, 50 or 100 hosting accounts, and you have the flexibility to adjust the license according to your project's needs.
You can also opt for other panels available on the market, but in that case, installation and configuration will be your responsibility.
Yes, all our Cloud Servers allow you to point your domains to them.
If you use a hosting Control Panel such as cPanel or Ferozo, you can manage the domain and the DNS Zone directly from the panel interface. If you are not using a Control Panel, you can also manage the DNS of your domains through an interface in your Client Area.
You can find the DNS to delegate your domains in this link.
At this link you can find all the information about the NS to which you should delegate your domains.
